Funerals & COVID-19
Updated 3-23-2020 @ 10:00 a.m.
Graumlich Funeral Home has served the Columbus Community in their time of need since 1862.
We care deeply about the health and well-being of our guests and employees.
We will be be monitoring and evaluating developments of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and adhere to the guidance provided by the CDC and Governor DeWine.
Graumlich Funeral Home believes gathering and fellowship during a time of loss is an essential component of the grieving process. The State of Ohio has exempted funerals from the public gathering ban; however The State of Ohio says no more than 50 people in gathering. While not mandatory, The State of Ohio strongly recommends that Ohioans avoid unnecessary non-family social gatherings of more than ten (10) people in accordance with national guidelines issued March 16, 2020. The State of Ohio has revised the order issuing the ban on public gatherings in order to comply with the CDC’s recommendations.
To protect the health and safety of our families and employees, all services and visitation will be strictly private for the foreseeable future. We will be offering Live Streaming of funeral service if family we are serving request. The CDC recommends no more than 10 people at any social gathering including a funeral. Social distancing is the best way to limit the spread of the COVID-19.
If you are feeling unwell or have any symptoms of COVID-19 please refrain from going out into the public. Staying home speeds your recovery and prevents spreading illness, as well as protects those in high-risk groups. If you are experiencing a cough, fever, or shortness of breath, we encourage you to not attend funeral services.
We provide the following options for your health concerns in response to COVID 19
Online Live Meeting/Arrangements with funeral director via Zoom or Online Collaboration via Graumlich Funeral Home website (private) between family and funeral director when making arrangements. As always we will be in continued contact with family through phone calls, emails, and text messaging.
Online Memorial Tributes (we have offered for many years)
This allows you to leave a condolence message to the family on their loved one's tribute page, post memories, photos, or view online tribute video on individual's tribute page on Graumlich Funeral Home website (www/graumlichfuneralhome.com)
Livestreaming of Funeral Service - If family requests and authorizes, Graumlich Funeral Home will livestream the funeral service via Facebook or via Zoom allowing a select group of people to view your loved one's funeral service.
Our sympathies go out to anyone who has the additional burden of grief and loss during this time, and we are here to guide each family with their needs on an individual basis. Graumlich Funeral Home remains focused on maintaining high standards and ethical practices and helping bereaved families with the health and well-being of our communities in mind as we move forward together in the coming weeks and months.
