William Wears

William "Bill" F. Wears, age 79, of Groveport, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on January 23, 2016. Bill was a member of Good Shepherd Community Church where he was a board member and a deacon. Retired from Duff Truck Lines after 30 years of service. Member of Southgate-Potter Lodge No. 782, Scottish Rite, York Rite Chapter Council and Commandery, OES Beacon Chapter No. 593, and Kentucky Colonel. Bill was a devoted member of the Grottoes of North America where he served as Monarch of Achbar Grotto of Columbus Ohio, and as Grand Monarch of Grottos of North America 1999-2000, as well as Executive Secretary.

Preceded in death by parents, Eber and Opal Wears, and sister, Dola Underwood.

Survived by wife of 45 years, Wanda Wears; children, Keith Wears, Cheryl Minton, Carla Kapp; Cindy Mitchell and Jeff Manning; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Spencer; best friends, Phyllis Rush and her late husband, Bob; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Family will receive friends Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 2 - 5 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High Street where Masonic service will begin (Thursday) at 6 p.m. followed by Grotto service at 6:30 p.m. visitation hours will then continue from 7-8 p.m. Family will also receive friends, Friday, January 29, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Graumlich Funeral Home, with funeral service to begin at 7:30 p.m., Pastor Gary Kirk officiating.
