Teresa J. Pressler, age 72, of Galloway, Ohio, passed away on February 25, 2026. Above all, Teresa was a woman who was deeply loved and who shared that love boundlessly with others—through her decades as a teacher, her devotion to her family, and the graceful way she navigated life’s challenges. She was the devoted wife of the late Steven Pressler; the two were inseparable in life, and she missed him dearly every day following his passing. She has left her earthly body and is now at peace with her Lord and Savior.
Born on May 18, 1953, to John and Margery Bacus, Teresa lived a life defined by her heart for others. As a public-school teacher, she poured her energy into her students, and that same spirit of generosity extended to everyone she met. A true fighter with remarkable grit, she faced her disability with a spirit that inspired many. She excelled in her education, attaining a Master’s degree and demonstrating a quiet resilience that allowed her to travel the world and live a full, vibrant life.
Teresa was a gifted organist who found great joy in music, bowling, and the simple pleasure of sharing a meal with friends. She was always quick to smile, always ready for a board game or a hand of cards and truly didn’t have an unkind bone in her body. Her kindness was a constant gift to those around her.
A Past Worthy Matron of the (Lockbourne) Triangle Chapter No. 592, Order of the Eastern Star (OES), Teresa was a woman of deep tradition and faith.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend, Steven Pressler; her parents, John and Margery Bacus; her siblings, Barbara Bacus, Eunice (Jim) McMullen, Donald (Rose) Bacus, and Clarence Bacus; and her brother-in-law, Terry Mathews
She is survived by her siblings, John (Sue) Bacus, Terry (Mary) Bacus, and Carol Mathews. Her brothers cherished her deeply and remained intensely protective of her throughout her entire life. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great (and great-great) nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Teresa’s niece, Lori, for the dedicated care she provided after Steve’s passing. Teresa and Steve always took care of each other, and the family is grateful to Lori and all the relatives who supported her during her time of heartbreak. She was loved immensely and will be missed by all.
