Sheila Hedgecock

December 20, 1957 — March 24, 2016

Sheila F. Hedgecock, of Columbus, passed away on March 24, 2016. She was born December 20, 1957, to Stanley and Fay (Mullins) McKinster.

Both parents were members of Grace Ministries (formally Grace Memorial) Church. Sheila was brought up in the church and asked Jesus to be her Savior when she was 9 and was baptized a few years later by Rev. Kenneth Fuller. Sheila wed Johnathan Hedgecock, a Marine MP, on Dec. 11, 1976. The ceremony was performed at the church by Rev. David Vaughn. They were blessed with a baby girl, named Jessica on October 16, 1986. Sadly, the marriage ended in divorce, in 1989.

Sheila's main passion was sharing the Gospel with children, she worked faithfully in the Children's Ministry for over 30 years. When health issues prevented Sheila from working in the Children's Ministry, she continued to serve the Lord from home performing some of the church's administrative duties.

Sheila retired from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services after 31 years of service. Her last position was that of Supervisor in the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages section in the Division of Labor Market Information.
