Born August 21, 1946. Passed May 28, 2026, aged 79. Graduate of Bexley High School and Capital University. Proud USMC Veteran (Vietnam). Oorah! Richard was a scientist with a passion for history, music (especially The Beatles), cooking, animals, and Ohio State University sports; he nicknamed himself "Little Woody (Hayes)." Creator of the best dad jokes, hands down.
Preceded in death by son, James P. Bugh, parents, James C. and Marie Bugh; brother-in-law, David Harris, sisters-in-law Terry Bugh and Melinda Bugh. Survived by daughter, Jamie Bugh, sister, Marilyn Harris, brother James E. Bugh, aunt Eleanor Wentzel, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Sincerest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to The James Cancer Gastrointestinal Oncology team at Martha Morehouse for the exceptional care they provided over the last eleven years, as well as the care provided by the hospital ICU team during his final days.

Visitation, Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43207, where service will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Brent Harris officiating. Interment with military honors to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estates in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
