Raymond Nelson

Raymond Nelson, age 71, of Columbus, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from Yellow Freight Trucking and was a member of Teamsters Union Local 413 and lifelong member of the NRA. Raymond enjoyed fishing and playing cards with his boys. He is preceded in death by parents, Howard E. and Martha J. Nelson; Survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Nelson; daughters, Tina (Jeff) Duff and Tonia (David) Walker; grandchildren, Christina McCarty, Hope Duff, and Alex Walker; great-grandson, Gavin McCarty; siblings, Linda Marcum of TX., Josephine Bowen of TN., Elizabeth Nelson of MI., George (Elsie) Nelson of Jackson, OH., and Gracie (Charley) Arthur of Columbus; many special nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and his 2 special dogs, Boomer and Abby. Visiting hours will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday July 29, 2013 at Raymond's residence, 780 Renick St., Columbus, OH 43223. On Tuesday July 30, 2013 he will then be transported to Trippiville United Baptist Church off State Route 35 on Elm Road in Jackson, Ohio where additional visitation at the church will be held beginning at 12 noon until time of service at 1 p.m., Pastor Jim Holbrook officiating.
