Randy Friesland

Randy Friesland born on Sept. 2, 1953 to the late Basil and Margie. Randy was an 1972 graduate of Columbus South High School, served in the United States Air Force, received an associate degree from Columbus State, he retired from the State of Ohio after 20 years of service with ODJFS. Randy attended Canaan Land Church. In 1991 Randy married his best friend and love of his life, Lisa (Wilson) Friesland. They recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.  Randy became a proud father in 1993 to his daughter, Elizabeth Friesland. Randy enjoyed life. Many would say he was the life of a party. Always telling stories in ways to make you laugh and showing off his dance moves. He loved to make people smile. He was a true friend and loved helping in any way he could. His favorite hobby was anything to do with cars, custom cars and vans. Randy was a vanner and enjoyed going to van events since 1986. He was always up for an adventure and loved to travel. Randy was diagnosed with cancer in May of 2015. He passed away suddenly at home Sunday evening August 13, 2017.

Survived by his wife Lisa, daughter Elizabeth, son from a previous marriage Keith, brother, Clyde (Dottie) Friesland, brother-in-law, Frankie Bernthold, in-laws (Lisa's parents), John and Shirley Clarkson, nieces and nephews, many special friends, vanner family and church family. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Bernthold, and brothers, Hal Friesland, and Paul Friesland. Family will gather with friends Friday, August 18, 2017 from 4 - 7 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., where service will be held Saturday 10 a.m., Pastor Shawn Beauchamp officiating.
