Paul C. Wingate, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Paul was born on June 16, 1942, in Mohegan, West Virginia to the late Paul and Emma King Wingate. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and later retired from American Signature after many years of dedicated service.
To his family, Paul was a leader, a protector, and a provider. He was known for his quick wit, unforgettable stories, and his famous homemade fudge—things his family will forever cherish. A devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan, Paul also enjoyed traveling between Ohio and Florida. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family and never missed an opportunity to watch his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.
Paul is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Karen Lou (Nunemaker) Wingate; his son, Paul C. Wingate; his daughter, Christina M. Wingate; his grandson, Hector Rivera; his brothers, James and Marvin Wingate; and his sister, Janette Brodosi.
He leaves behind his loving daughters, Lisa L. Nunemaker and Theresa E. (Bill) Blanken; his brother, George Wingate; and his sister, Christine Boyd. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Danelle Ashley, Danny, Dustin, Alisha (Kendall), Mia, Marcus, and Halle; and his great-grandchildren, Drake, Naylee, Riley, Julius, Addyson, Bryer, Felix, Layla, Keyley, and Alana.
Paul’s legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew him.
