Maxine Akers, age 71, of Columbus, died September 16, 2007. Preceded in death by husband, Johnny Akers; parents, Ben and Zummer May. Survived by children, Brenda Groff, Diane Lanning, Virgil Wolford and Roger Wolford; grandchildren, Lisa, Tina, Johnny, Crystal, Billy, Christopher, Brandon, Destiny and Ryan; great-grandchildren; siblings, Madeline, Willard, Richard and Dean; many nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., where service will be held Friday 10:30 a.m., Pastor John Palmer officiating. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
