Herbert L. Truax passed away on March 14, 2016, at Doctors West Hospital.
He was born January 5, 1946, to William (Bud) and Rose Truax and was preceded in death by them and his sister Marlene Isbitz. Graduate of Columbus South High School (1964) and Franklin University (1975). Served in the US Army during Vietnam. He was an avid supporter of several organizations including his high school alumni association and was looking forward to working another election at the polls. Herb always had a story to tell, a correct direction to take, or life advice to give to whoever encountered him. No matter the situation, he always had something smart or sarcastic to say, as the situation called for.
Herb is survived by his loving wife Beverley; sons Will Smith, Doug (Patricia) Smith and Sam Truax; his brother Fred; sister-in-law, Doris Oursler; several nieces and nephews; his many "adopted" sons and daughters; and his beloved dog Jillian.
A celebration of life will take place on March 26th, at First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W Weisheimer Rd. at 6:30 p.m. followed by light reception.
