Columbus

Flossie M. Pryor of Columbus, Ohio, age 86, born January 30, 1939, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Throughout her life, Flossie displayed remarkable strength of character. Known for being strong-willed and never afraid to stand her ground, she possessed a determination that both defined her and endeared her to those who knew and loved her.

Flossie worked at LifeCare Alliance, where her commitment to service and compassion for others were deeply important to her. She found joy in helping people and took pride in making a difference, no matter how small. One of her most cherished passions was sewing bibs for children with disabilities, a reflection of her generous heart and creative spirit. She also enjoyed painting by numbers, gardening, tending to her flowers, and working in her yard—simple pleasures that brought her happiness and added beauty to the world around her.

Flossie’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her children, Sharon Cochenour, Sandy (Mark) Holly, Barbara Pryor, and William Pryor. She was a loving grandmother to Shawn Pryor, John Pryor, Elizabeth Pryor, Patrick Cochenour, Jennifer Huffman, Jessica Estep, Kassidy Pryor, Kyle Pryor, and Mark Clinger, and her legacy continues through her 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by her love and guidance.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Hazel Hollar; her son, Michael Pryor; her grandsons, Andrew Cochenour and Christopher Pryor; and her siblings, Brice Hollar, Margaret Wise, Betty Ely, Richard Hollar, Bonnie Smith, and John Newland.

Flossie will be remembered for her resilience, generosity, creativity, and unwavering love for her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the many lives she touched.
