Elinda L. Gastaldo

Elinda L. Gastaldo, 82, of Worthington, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, surrounded by the family she so deeply loved. A 1963 graduate of Big Walnut High School, Elinda embraced life with an energetic warmth and tenacity. She was a devoted mother, caretaker, and beloved Mimi, roles she cherished above all else. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her life into them with unwavering love, encouragement, and support. A member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for many years, she carried her faith with quiet strength and a generous heart.

Elinda loved traveling and especially treasured spending winters in Naples, Florida, with her sister, Evelyn. Their time together was filled with sunshine, family, and the deep companionship only sisters can share. She also loved gatherings—holidays, birthdays, or any reason to be together—and she never wanted the party to end. Her presence made all celebrations brighter.

Elinda had an eye for detail and decorating that came effortlessly. She had a gift that brought beauty and comfort into every space she touched. Whether arranging furniture, choosing the perfect colors, or adding small touches that made a house feel like home. She could transform any room with her unmistakable sense of style. Creating warm, welcoming spaces was one of the many ways she expressed her love.

Elinda was preceded in death by her husband, Armando Gastaldo; her parents, Isaac and Beulah Edwards; and her brothers, Richard and Robert Edwards.

Elinda leaves behind her sons and daughters‑in‑law, Jeffrey and Dana Compton, Brian and Melissa Compton, and Chad and Beth Compton; her grandchildren, Britney (Nick) Huettel, Cassaundra Compton, Blake (Emma) Compton, Jacob (Zach Wilson) Compton, Alexis Compton, Katherine Hilton, Connor (Melissa) Hilton, and Christian Hilton; and her great‑grandchildren, Zoe, Charlie, and Millie Huettel. She is also survived by her sister, Evelyn Liebert, with whom she shared a lifelong and treasured bond; many step-children and step‑grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended relatives and family friends who adored her.

Elinda’s life was defined by compassion, devotion, and a love that radiated outward to everyone she met. Her memory will continue to be a source of comfort, joy, and strength to all who were blessed to know her.
