On May 22, 2026, Clara McPeek-Dixon, a loving mother, grandmother, relative, and friend, passed away at the age of 90. Clara was born on April 13, 1936, to Charles Stewart and Louisa Palmer. She grew up in Sardis, Ohio before later moving to and settling down in Obetz, where she built a life centered around family, faith, and hard work.
Clara was known for her independent spirit, her strong will, and her deep love for her family. She had a steady presence and a way of carrying herself with quiet resilience through life's many challenges. Throughout her life, she faced hardships and loss, yet continued forward with strength, grace, and a determination that inspired those around her. Beneath her tough exterior was a deeply caring woman who loved her family in her own steadfast way. While she could be fiercely independent, she also had a warmth that showed through in her conversations and the time she spent with others. Her strength, perseverance, and enduring presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Stewart and Louisa Palmer; her 14 brothers and sisters; and her beloved sons, Steven McPeek and Donald McPeek. She is survived by her loving daughter, Kathy Monteith and husband Mike; her son, Kevin McPeek and wife Sandra; her cherished grandchildren Stacy McPeek, Steven McPeek, David McPeek, Steven Prince, Savannah Prince, Matthew McPeek, and Deanna McPeek; along with many great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly.
Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply and the generations that follow her. She will be remembered for her strength, independence, resilience, and intelligence, all of which carried her through life's many challenges. Her determination and sharp mind left a lasting impression on those who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed and long remembered.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, beginning at 12:30 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43207, with Pastor Timothy Lee officiating.
