Carolyn J. Pernell

Carolyn Jean Pernell, age 84, of Obetz, passed away August 7, 2025. She was born in Charleston W.Va. on April 25, 1941. She worked for Shonac Corporation and The Eyeglass Factory. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, nana, great nana and sister.

Preceded in death by husband Joe Pernell, son John Pernell, granddaughter Dawn Pernell, grandson Scott Pernell and great granddaughter Elliana, father and mother, John and Ethel Short, sisters Kat, Nellie, Lillian and Janet brothers Burl and Bobby. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, children, Mike (Michele) Pernell, Crystal (Ed) Tucker, and Tracey (Scott) Napier. Grandkids John (Jodi) Pernell, Brady (Alex) Reyes and Jenny (Mario) Chavez, Travis Newt (Brittany) Wright and Trevor Wright, Dylan (Colleen) Napier and Taylor (Zack) Napier. Great grandkids Joey, Devan, Riley, Hayden, Jeremiah, Josh, Savannah, Avery and Romy. Sisters, Barbara Faye, Dorothy, Judy, Nancy, and Sharon; brother Ralph Short. 

A memorial service will be held at Walnut Heights Baptist Church, 1660 Lattimer Dr., Columbus OH, 43227 on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 12 noon, Rev. Ralph Short officiating.
