It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie Walters, who died peacefully on August 6, 2025, at the age of 87, surrounded by her loving family.
Bonnie was born in Ohio in January 1938 to John and Fay Ann Richardson. She grew up in Columbus and graduated from Columbus North High School in 1955. After high school, she worked as a secretary until she married Charles Walters in 1961. Once her kids came along, she found her true calling working for the Westerville City Schools, where she served as a district food manager for over 35 years. She retired in 2002-the same year her grandson was born, which quickly became her favorite job of all.
Bonnie was known for her kindness, sense of humor and selfless devotion to her children. She loved spending time with her family and was a steady and caring presence in their lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, and her sisters Sue and JoAnn. She is survived by her son, Tim Walters, daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Steve Ohm, grandson Jonathan Ohm, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12 noon at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 South High St., Columbus, Ohio 43207, with Pastor Josh Foor officiating. Her final resting place will be at Union Cemetery in Columbus.
