Carol Kennedy

Carol Ann Kennedy was full of life and was a kind and loving soul to all that knew her. She left this world way too soon on December 17, 2021 at the age of 81.  She was born March 11, 1940 in Columbus Ohio to Herman and Loretta Best and was 1 of 4 children. Carol's world evolved around her family, her church and her friends.  She was strong in her faith and when she wasn't playing cards with her bestie Ralph or hanging out with her family she was at church!

She was a devoted mother of 3 children, David McKenzie, Harvey McKenzie and Rita (David) Grabovich, Grandmother of 7 Grandchildren, Nicole (Nick) Bartling, Dustin Mckenzie, Mike Mckenzie, Aaron (Alana) Grabovich, Crystal Mckenzie, Wesley Blackburn and Hannah McKenzie Thompson, Great Grandmother of 9 and just recently had her first Great-Great Grandchild!

Carol was a retiree of the Columbus public schools and Kroger. She loved to travel and was always game to go anywhere. One of her most exciting trips was a big surprise trip with her son, daughter, and grandchildren to Hawaii 2 years ago. Carol loved nature and spent much time camping and swimming. She also loved to laugh, and was a jokester, she was always the first to try to pull an April Fool's joke on you! Carol loved music, a little Patsy Cline and especially some Keith Urban (Blue Ain't Your Color)! She loved dancing and deemed her great granddaughter Alivia, her little dancing partner! She also loved to sing and had been a member of her church choir for many, many years, often time doing a solo during the Sunday morning service at Good Shepherd Community Church.

As Heartbreaking as her passing is to family and friends, she was ready to go see her Lord and Savior, she knew Jesus and is in a better place, though deeply missed by all here on earth. Her courageous zest for life, sense of humor and loving ways will forever live on in our hearts!

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Lorretta Best, husband Marvin Kennedy, first husband Larry McKenzie; son David McKenzie and her 3 siblings Shirley Kiser and Richard and Bill Best.

Family will receive friends, Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 4 to 7 P.M. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., Columbus, Ohio, 43207. Funeral Service Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. (visitation one hour prior) at Good Shepherd Community Church, 210 Obetz Road, Columbus, Ohio 43207 with Pastor Gary Kirk officiating. Interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to the Good Shepherd Community Church.
