Joyce Burton Wallace was born in Columbus , Ohio November 5, 1932, to Carl and Dorothy Burton, passed away on September 12, 2026. She attended and graduated from South High School in 1950. On February 23, 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, Charles Wallace. Together they raised 2 sons, Steven and Douglas Wallace.

She retired from Columbus Public Schools after serving as Secretary at Buckeye Junior High(Middle School ) after 20 plus years and according to former teachers Joyce was the glue that held the school together. 

She was a 75 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

After retirement, she and Chuck enjoyed traveling and then settled in the winter months in Nakomis, Florida. She was a wonderful , caring Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Dorothy Burton, Sister Phyllis Donovan, Son Steven Wallace and Granddaughter Jennifer Wallace. 

She is survived by her son Doug Wallace (Bernie), Daughter in law Sally Wallace, Grandchildren Jason Wallace (Jody Brinkman), Nicholas Wallace (Jennifer), Christopher Wallace, Caitlin Ewing (Neal Ewing), Great Grandchildren Addelin, Trey , Nico, Cami, Braylon, Khailyer, Ka’mya and nephew Timothy Donovan(MJ). Visitation Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43207 where service will be held Friday, September 18, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., with Pastor Stan Kirtlan officiating. Private family burial to immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus, Ohio.
