Billy Joe Hart, forever to be remembered as a good man, husband, father, and grandfather. Survived by daughter, Christine Hart Rodgers; granddaughter, Keri Rodgers; son, Richard Hart (Janet) and grandchildren, Jamie and Jessica; sister-in-law, Maryellen Oxer. Born in Hillsboro, Ohio on August 22, 1927 to Leona (Walker) Hart. Attended Everett Jr. High, North High School, and Ohio State University, where he also played shortstop for the baseball team. Enlisted in the Navy, serving in WWII and Korean Wars. Married his sweetheart Betty Igel on Jan 31, 1953. They were married 58 years. Agler-Davidson sporting goods salesman for over 40 years, Bill designed the buckeye leaf decal still worn on OSU football helmets as a favor to Woody Hayes in 1967. His legacy of designing the decal for OSU lives on. Member of St Margaret of Cortona and Germania. Columbus Crew usher and founder of Golfview Woods Blockwatch. Visitation Monday, July 2 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 3 at 10 AM (please meet at the church) at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 1600 N. Hague Ave., Msgr. Anthony Borrelli officiating. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Billy's name to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090.
